Studio light painting
Dimitris Cassaras was inspired for his light-painting work from the intense light lines created by the passing vehicles on the night long-exposure shots. As a student he used to take this kind of shots on the streets of Athens.
Subsequently, he decided to bring this concept in a dark studio, moving the lights by himself while standing in front of the camera. He is using common sources of light such as torches, coloured spots, light tubes and Christmas tree lights.
Dimitris Cassaras light-painting work is created exclusively on 35mm colour slide film.
